Many
engineers use conventional box culverts as a solution for
stormwater detention systems. Carlow Precast has designed
an innovative solution that can solve many of the problems
associated with installing and sealing culvert systems.
The Carlow Precast design is a semi precast - semi in situ
modular system. Precast elements form the external walls,
internal walls and roof, while situ floors and joints ensure
that the system is a fully sealed unit when completed.
Our modular system can be designed for installation in deep
burial areas, trafficked areas, high water tables and for
most site conditions. A variety of depths and shapes means
our system can also be installed in intricate shapes to suit
the space available on site.
Speed of completion, from initial inquiry through to design,
delivery and installation are a major factor in the success
of this product. To date we have installed numerous systems
covering a wide range of capacities on sites in Ireland and
the UK. A detailed reference list is available on request.
Any installation of this nature carried out by CPT is designed
in accordance with the following principal Codes, Standards
and Guides:
BS 8110: |
The Structural Use of Concrete (Pt. 1) |
BS8007: |
Code of Practice for Design of Concrete Structures
for Retaining Aqueous Liquids |
| |
Dramix Design Guidelines for Design of Steel Fibre
Reinforced Concrete Structures |
The design life of each installation is 50 years. This is
the minimum period for which will remain serviceable without
maintenance and is consistent with normal building practice.
